Magdalena is fourteen years old and eagerly anticipating her quinceañera, which will be held on her fifteenth birthday. When she finds out she’s pregnant shortly before her quinceañera, the foundations of her world begin to crumble.
She is soon evicted from her home by both her parents and baby’s father. Magdalena is then taken in by his great-grandnephew Tomas, who also has a gay, mischievous cousin named Carlos. There she discovers a new family and life for herself.
